How many times have you told yourself that your ship has passed? How many times a DAY do you scroll through social media and tell yourself lies like I could never do that.
Or I am TOO OLD.
Too young.
Too skinny.
Too fat.
Too __________ .
That's impossible.
Let's call it what it is - BS.
These lies are self-imposed limitations created in your mind. I know. Because I used to tell myself the same lies too.
Using my own journey & my expertise in personal training, IRONMAN coaching, and wellness coaching. I partner with my clients to create personalized plans that suit their goals whether tackling that first 5K to learning how to swim at age 45, lifestyle, and preferences, and support them throughout their journey of achieving physical and mental resilience.
My passion for health and fitness stems from my own transformation, after leaving a successful career in corporate to take control back of my health after devastating health setbacks.
Do as I Say and Do
We often tell our kids to dream big go chase goals but as a parent when was the last time you chased your dreams? Have you ever shown your kids what it takes to go after big goals? How to stick to something despite setbacks, failure and fear? Fear of failing, looking stupid, or even succeeding?
Your Word is Everything
Confidence comes from keeping the promises you made to yourself and honoring those committments daily. Because when you honor committments you make, your trust in yourself grows, and when you break promises to yourself, your trust in yourself erodes.
Pinky Promise
The more promises you keep to yourself, the less validation you seek from others, the more promises we break, the more external validation we seek from others who also broke promises to themselves, looking for a pat on the back saying it's ok to quit. Because misery loves company. Add the more promises you keep, the less you care what others think, how many likes your social media posts get or anything else, because you already crushed your goals and no one can take that from you.
And the daily act of doing something that moves you towards your goal is when mindset shifts.
Life has a remarkable way of throwing unexpected challenges our way.
If you had told me back in 2018, as I walked away from the corporate world, that I would not only shed nearly 40 pounds but also coach myself to conquer my first full IRONMAN—completing a 2.4-mile ocean swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run in just 13 hours and 56 minutes—qualify for and run the prestigious 2024 Boston Marathon, all at the age of 46, after undergoing a double mastectomy with reconstruction and losing both my ovaries and uterus in my late 30s, I would have dismissed it as impossible. Yet, against all odds, that's precisely what unfolded.
My journey has been anything but easy. Because Life has a remarkable way of throwing unexpected challenges our way.
From being struck by a car while out for a run, resulting in a broken elbow in 2022, to grappling with jellyfish stings minutes into the 2.4-mile ocean swim during IRONMAN Florida, I've faced challenges head-on, embracing them as part of my journey.
And COVID-19 was just the tip of the iceberg.
From the heartache of losing out on having a mother when I was just 3 years old, to navigating the complexities of raising two boys with Dyslexia and one with Asperger's Syndrome, to supporting my ex-husband through his battle with alcoholism, the challenges have been relentless, one after another.
I've had a million reasons to throw in the towel. Financial struggles, a lack of support, broken bones, bad hair days, relocating five times in four years, and a constant cloud of uncertainty. But I always ask myself? What is worse? To quit or keep going? Because I didn't come this far to come this far.
Outside of Work...
